actually theres a lot of sense in it. The MORONIC truck driver stopped on a BLIND curve which is more dangerous then stopping on a straight away. Also sorry to tell you this but I don’t care if you got a job or not your job isn’t worth someones life. So get off the road and stay out of our way

I wonder how many times those streetside poles in 0:28 to about 0:46 have been hit? lol

I think I’d feel better with an extra siren operating in this country, too many blind driveways and side roads to run silent. I can’t believe some idiots think that they should run silent.

at least I have my grammar.
June 12th, 2009 at 11:17
I am sure this driver knew what he was doing..

Why do we talk about people running a 100mph you guys don’t have a lot of room to talk. Talking about another call that had and being recorded is not a good thing to be doing. It just bugs me that you guys think it was so wrong for that big truck to stop like it did and u guys fuss. Well you know what if it wasn’t for a big truck and its driver you would not have NOTHING!!!!!!!
June 19th, 2009 at 03:59
On a 2 lane road running speeds like you guys were running is dangerous. Think about this who has the emergency you are the other person on the other end. Sometimes we all get in a hurry and don’t think about what could happpen. You all could have had an emergency of your own. The big truck where was it suppose to go it was no where to pull off. That big truck has a job just like you do. The truck driver tries to get out of the way and you guys make fun of that it is no sense in it.

Good points.
2:15 if a car did not stop for their stop sign at that “T” intersection, it could be a problem.
So be going slower in the oncoming lane and be ready for it.
You can’t go into a “blind corner” counting on a siren.
So they use “spaz” (bird call) the poorest heard sound?
3:50, could easily have continued around that semi without making it stop and stopping themselves.
Again you are slower so that if there is an oncoming vehicle, you can further slow and adjust.
June 24th, 2009 at 16:08
dude stfu! maybe they have rules they must fallow that you dont know about. oh and at 2:15 and 3:50, did you notice that blind corner? hmm yeah im going to go into oncoming lanes with a blind corner you fucking dumbass.

Our SOPs are really smart.
Allow the crew to use their intelligence and decide.
No siren when not needed.
We can be considerate of others.
We also can turn off lights when exiting an Interstate.
When signaling and changing lanes to the off ramp, vehicles often pull over into and stop in thexit lane. This further impedes the EV and creates risks when they try to re-enter traffic.
Some drivers even wind up forced to exit.
Since we are below the speed limit, no lights are required.

Why sound siren when no one to hear it but people in their homes?
Fake horn is less effectinve than Wail or Yelp.
Hyper-Yelp is a worthless gimmick to sell sirens to suckers.
Have a collision with Hyper-spaz, you’ll get sued for unrecognizable siren.
At 2:15 why not pass in opposing lane? You had clear view of no traffic.
At 3:50 you should have merely slowed and passed truck in opposing lane.
Where did you expect that truck to go?

Many departments have SOPs requiring sirens and lights to be in use at all times during an emergency reponse, especially EMS departments.

i love how the tractor just pulled off on a blind curve. we had one the other day pulled off on a really blind curve, a curve that goes the whole way around the hill. we put it on and eased around just like it was done here>

haha i love how the speed-limit-40 sign just disappears. great response guys. stay safe.

I am not in this field and know little about it but let me just say that was some bad *** driving ! Also not sure what this location is but you folks get to make some runs in a very pretty area. Must be nice. kudos to the driver ! That was nifty !
July 12th, 2009 at 22:29
Oh also I don’t care if we wake you up in your home I’d rather be safe then worry about some sniveling little civilian that’s got nothing better to do then complain. Then when its your emergency call you witch that we took to long.

Someone PLS shut robertgift up! He has no idea what hes talking about. Lights and sirens are there for precaution and potentially saving someone from a deadly crash. He thinks hes gods gift to EMS. BTW good work bothers keep up the good responses!

I have said this on other videos of such, in most states like New Mexico the statues read that if you are operating in emergency mode means lights on you have to be running a siren regardless of time of day. Out here in New Mexico you can get in trouble if you do not run a siren when your responding running code.
July 16th, 2009 at 17:08
yeah, and that few minutes where theyre trying to wake them could turn out to be the end of the patients life. get em on the road, and if theyre not needed, turn em around. some dispatchers cant do anything more than get info, and dispatch the units. as for sirens, you dont know the policies and protocols for this department, or how they do things, and i dont care if billy homeowner doesnt wanna hear my siren, i’m putting it on and warning people down the road. i have no choice with that.

You make a good point about the child!
I would sound Wail in limited sight areas.
But most of this was wide open.
But what if the child is deaf? (Most deaf are VERY visually aware and compensate for the deafness.)
You can’t count on the siren being heard.
As a resident, I get tired of hearing sirens, sounded needlessly, being forced into my home.
Why did I say sleeping?
Not your fault.
Dispatch should try to get RP to wake patient to see if EMS is needed.
