Yes, that’s right. And if you don’t know which number to dial, you can call the police hotline 059133 and if you are deaf, send a message or fax to 0800 133 133
It’s really easy to remember, isn’t it?

  3. Makrophage999 Says:

This is now reality, in Austria the new number for poice advices is
01-31310-78900 (thats real, no joke!).(Before it was 133, this number is now only for “real emergencies)
    Try to remember that :D

No the last bit isn’t true. Since the remote control works on radio frequencies that can not be transmitted over the phone.

You may know that mobiles also can call the emergency services without having any call tiem on them - as well as being able to dial 112 or 999 even if the phone is locked. .Also, not sure it’s true, that getting someone to plip your car alarm remote over the phone while holding your phone near the car, it’ll unlock and you can get in.

  11. Kyrantho Says:

    Nicer ambulances!
    Faster response times!

  15. heathenwalking Says:

Yeah you can phone either 112 or 999. I think 911 actually works too though I don’t know, to try and help American Tourists maybe? If you’re in the UK and phoning from a Mobile use 112 because the Mobile’s location can be traced and your location found very quickly. Decreases dispatch time and the time taken to get to you quite a bit.

  16. Keromor Says:

    999 is the correct number
